Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Romeo Doubs Found His Football Calling at the University
of Nevada

Like many professional football players, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs played multiple positions during his high school days. A standout at Jefferson High School in Los Angeles, California, Doubs played quarterback, running back, and wide receiver. During his senior season, he rushed for 1,757 yards and an astounding 28 touchdowns. He also had 354 receiving yards and five touchdown receptions. At the University of Nevada, though, Doubs found his niche in football as one of the most dynamic wide receivers in school history. As a freshman, he caught 43 passes for 562 yards and two touchdowns. It was clear that he was going to be a special player from the beginning of the
season when he returned a punt 80 yards for a touchdown in his very first collegiate game. As a sophomore, Doubs earned Nevada’s team MVP Award after recording 44 receptions for 649 yards and four touchdowns. The next season, though, Doubs started to show even more flashes of the NFL player he would become. In his third college season, Doubs crossed the 1,000-receiving yards mark for the first time, recording 58 receptions for 1,002 yards and nine touchdowns. As a senior, he had 80 receptions for 1,109 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Romeo Doubs Is Just One of Three Green Bay Packers Players to Achieve 100 Receptions, 1,000 Receiving Yards, and 10 Touchdowns in His First Two Seasons

The Green Bay Packers selected Romeo Doubs in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. As a rookie, Doubs had 42 receptions for 425 yards and three touchdowns. Unfortunately, he missed four games of his first season in the NFL due to a high ankle sprain. Doubs came back better than ever in 2023. When the Packers made the decision to trade Aaron
Rodgers to the New York Jets and make Jordan Love the starting quarterback, Doubs spent the offseason working with his new starter in an effort to build a strong chemistry. It worked. In his second season, Doubs had 59 receptions for 674 yards and eight touchdowns. He was second on the team in receptions and receiving yards and tied for the team lead in receiving touchdowns. Doubs had a sort of breakout game against the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Wild Card Round, catching six passes for 151 yards and a touchdown in the Packers’ 48-32 victory. He also had a
solid six-catch 83-yard performance in their loss to the San Francisco 49ers. In two seasons with Green Bay, Doubs has accumulated 101 receptions for 1,099 yards and 11 touchdowns. Only two other Packers wide receivers in the history of their franchise have had those kind of numbers in their first two seasons: Pro Football Hall of Famer James Lofton andPackers legend Sterling Sharpe:
