Jaire Alexander was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 9, 1997. As a senior at Rocky River High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, Alexander had 30 tackles and four interceptions as a cornerback. Alexander was named the fifth-best player in the state of North Carolina by Scout.com after his senior year.
Alexander went to the University of Louisville, where he played in 29 games in three seasons. Over that time, Alexander had 77 total tackles, two tackles for a loss, seven interceptions, 15 passes defended, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble.
