After a successful opening at Diamond Jo Casino in Northwood, IA, FanDuel once again reached out to Mayfield Sports Marketing for the debut of sports betting in Dubuque, IA on Wednesday, September 4, 2019.
Green Bay Packer alumni Antonio Freeman was on hand at Diamond Jo Casino Dubuque for the grand opening, greeting fans and celebrating the iconic step.
"I think it's amazing, I think it's great for the community and for sports betting. It gives you a convenient place to go and it's comfortable in here and I think sports betters will enjoy the new addition to Diamond Jo."
Antonio Freeman to KCRQ Your 24 Hour News
Hundreds came to welcome fan-favorite Antonio Freeman to Dubuque’s Diamond Jo Casino for the grand opening. Banking on the luck his number 86 jersey brought him during his football career, the former Packer wide receiver placed an $86 ceremonial first bet that the Green Bay Packers score more than 21.5 points in their game against the Chicago Bears.
In addition to the initial $45,000 licensing fee, Iowa casinos will pay a $10,000 annual renewal fee with Iowa taxing revenues at 6.75% in order to offer sports betting.
A popular fantasy sports provider, FanDuel moved into sports betting following the recent Supreme Court ruling opening initial locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey with locations in Iowa and Indiana quickly following.

When FanDuel Sportsbook was looking for the perfect celebrity athlete to help them kick-off Iowa’s legalization of sports betting they reached out to Mayfield Sports Marketing. Minnesota Viking fans remember how their former defensive tackle John Randle excited the crowd on game day, and 15 years later Mayfield Sports owner and CEO Mark Mayfield knew he was the perfect athlete to get the job done!
“I think 35-W is going to be an awfully busy road, full of people making the trip. It’s an easy trip, and I think it’s going to be a new experience that we’ll be talking about for years to come.”
John Randle to Globe Gazette
A large, and excited crowd was on hand at Diamond Jo Casino on Thursday, August 29, 2019, to welcome Randle as he helped cut the ribbon and place the ceremonial first bet at FanDuel’s and Boyd Gaming’s new sportsbook. With $93 in hand, the retired Minnesota Viking’s bet on the Minnesota Twins beating the Chicago White Sox paid tribute to his old jersey number.
In addition to the initial $45,000 licensing fee, Iowa casinos will pay a $10,000 annual renewal fee with Iowa taxing revenues at 6.75% in order to offer sports betting.
Currently, in addition to Iowa 16 other states have legalized sports betting including Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Mississippi, Montana, New York, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Islan, Tennessee, and West Virginia.
One of the most popular daily fantasy sports providers, FanDuel recently made its debut in the sports betting industry after the recent Supreme Court ruling. With initial locations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, FanDuel Sportsbook continues to expand opening locations in Iowa and Indiana in the coming months.

As the Green Bay Packers continue to prepare for the 2019 season under new head coach Matt LaFleur, questions abound as to who is going to be the star piece for the offense. According to many pundits, sixth-year wide receiver Davante Adams may be looking at fulfilling that role.
When future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers says, “Davante can play anywhere. I mean, he’s an incredible talent and a great receiver”, that is high praise indeed considering the source.
Davante Adams had an outstanding season in 2018, marking his name in the record books in many different ways:
Consider this: Adams led the Packers with 111 receptions. The #2 pass catcher last year, Jimmy Graham, had 55 receptions. That is an incredible difference and actually ranks as the largest in Green Bay Packers history.
Adams is young. At 26 years old, there’s still a lot of tread on those tires. He plans to take advantage of it this season and establish himself as the premier wide receiver in the game.
The goal for 2019 is to produce a balanced run and catch game. With his extensive knowledge of routes and his foot speed and agility, all signs point to Adams having a beast of a year and exciting the Lambeau Field faithful in a quest for the playoffs.
We have worked Davante Adams since he was a rookie. Whether it’s an endorsement opportunity or a chance to make an event sparkle with a star power appearance, the athletes of Mayfield Sports Marketing bring unparalleled excitement to any event.

One of the questions being talked about at Green Bay Packers training camp this summer is who will be Davante Adams backup as the #2 wide receiver?
It appears that Geronimo Allison will have earned that spot. He continues to impress his teammates as he works his way back from an injury that sidelined him for a good chunk of the 2018 season.
He even got some pretty high praise from Adams himself recently.
“I think Matt [LaFleur] has really tested him or challenged him to widen it out so he can play multiple spots. … Him being able to move around right now and be healthy, be himself and just play, being able to have all those things, it’s going to be dangerous.”
Davante Adams
Last season, Geronimo Allison was dealing with a core muscle injury and ended up requiring surgery. He has reported to ESPN that surgery was successful and that he had a very productive rehab period.
When we last saw the Packers, Allison was an unrestricted free agent. He signed a one-year contract with Green Bay that is worth $2.8 million not including his signing bonus.
Allison is currently the Packers second-most experienced wide receiver, behind only Adams. As he enters his fourth season playing at Lambeau Field, he has caught 55 passes worth 758 yards in 30 NFL games with 4 touchdowns to his credit. He will see competition for the spot with Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Jake Kumerow.
As a leader in sports marketing in Wisconsin, Mayfield Sports Marketing loves working with up and coming athletes like Geronimo Allison. Everyone loves a winner, and there’s nothing better than being part of their rise to fame. Mayfield Sports Marketing is proud to work with our friends at Vayner Sports on projects with Geronimo.

Green Bay Packers players and coaches agree that one of the players to keep an eye on during the 2019 season is nose tackle Kenny Clark. The UCLA standout, taken 27th overall in the 2016 NFL draft, has consistently shown a high work ethic and desire to improve.
Here’s what Blake Martinez, inside linebacker, had to say recently to Forbes Magazine concerning Clark:
“I tell him every single week that he makes my job that much easier because he’s taking double teams, triple teams, still making plays. And he, once again, is a guy that has extremely high character, extremely high work ethic and every single day he’s doing things to get 1-to-2 percent better and it’s kind of scary to know that he still is getting
better.”
Clark played 13 games before being put on injured reserve with an injury to his elbow. Despite the injury, he still managed to accumulate four sacks, 26.5 pressures, and 55 tackles.
His 26.5 pressures were a team-best. Clark was second on the team in takeaways with three and he only missed four tackles all season. It really is no wonder that Pro Football Focus recently listed Clark as the 37th best overall player in the NFL for 2019 and the fourth-best interior defensive player.
It’s a testament to Clark’s work ethic and dedication that he has progressed this far in such a short time. The future looks very bright as Clark is only 23 years old and is ready to take his place as a valued piece of the Green Bay defense.
Many fans believe Clark is in a prime position to receive a large contract if the 2019 season is a breakthrough. Right now, Clark is signed through 2020 with a $7.69 million salary that final season. If his production continues to improve, he should be looking at a new contract worth $16-17 million per year.
With standout athletes such as Kenny Clark available for endorsements, appearances, and motivational speaking, it’s no wonder that Mayfield Sports Marketing has become a sports marketing leader in Wisconsin. Mayfield Sports is proud to work with our friends at Creative Management Group on projects for Kenny Clark. When the experts at Pro Football Focus decide to release a list of the Top 10 running backs in the NFL for the 2019 season, people take notice. It wasn’t a surprise to see Green Bay Packers third-year wide receiver Aaron Jones on that list.
Jones landed in the #8 spot on the list, sharing the spotlight with other noted running backs such as Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, and Alvin Kamara.
Aaron Jones had a very good stat line last season, with 728 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns in 12 games played. Jones averaged 5.5 yards per carry and got a first down on 30.8% of his carries.
His receiving game was also efficient. Jones finished the season with 26 catches and one receiving touchdown.
As he enters the 2019 season, under new head coach Matt LaFleur, Jones hopes to improve his game. He points to having only three games with 15 or more carries in 2018 as inspiration to improve.
In a quest to become the centerpiece of the Packers redesigned offense, as well as the desire to be named to the Pro Bowl for the first time, Jones has spent a considerable portion of the offseason getting into shape and preparing for an offense tailor-made for Jones.
With an outside-zone running scheme that is perfect for Jones style of play -- pure slash and dash -- the stage is set for a breakout year for the Packers and Aaron Jones. In addition to Aaron Jones, other Mayfield Sports athletes represented on the PFF Top Running Backs of 2019 list include Melvin Gordon of the Chargers and Alvin Kamara of the Saints.
Mayfield Sports Marketing works directly with professional athletes, agents and marketing agents across the country, including Aaron Jones Green Bay Packer and his team at Steinberg Sports, helping him reach his fans through endorsement opportunities and appearances. Football is back in Green Bay! After a thrilling 28-26 win over the Houston Texans in the first game of the preseason, the Packers hit the road for their second preseason tilt on August 15th against the Baltimore Ravens. Unfortunately, the boys got bit, falling to the Ravens 26-13.
First-year coach Matt LaFleur is hoping to resurrect Packer's greatness, and many preseason pundits have Green Bay winning no less than 12 games this year and taking the NFC North crown. The 2019 preseason promises to be interesting for LaFleur, as he develops a working relationship with future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers and installs new offensive and defensive schemes.
Up next, the Packers head west to take on a woeful looking Oakland Raiders team. Because of ongoing stadium issues in Oakland, this game will be played in Winnipeg. Adding even more fuel to the fire is the upcoming visit to Lambeau by the Raiders on October 20.
The final preseason game also is against a team the Packers will see during the regular season, the Kansas City Chiefs. Given that this is the final preseason game, don’t expect to see the regular season starters on the field for any significant playing time. Instead, the much-anticipated matchup between Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes will have to wait until the October 27 tilt at Arrowhead Stadium.
Provided Rodgers and LaFleur click and work together well, this season has the potential to be a championship year for the Packers. The key will be the defense, anchored by players such as Jaire Alexander and Rashan Gary. Alexander is already getting All-Pro buzz, while Gary is showing everyone why he was worth a first-round draft pick. There is also noticeable improvement with players such as Kenny Clark, who is looking to build on previous success.
The offense is showing championship stuff as well. Davante Adams looks to be a key piece in Coach LaFleur’s system and it will not be surprising to see a high touchdown total for him by the end of the season. This looks like the season that Aaron Jones gets 1,000 rushing yards. The Packers offense is also looking for improvement from players such as Geronimo Allison, resigned by the Packers after an injury-shortened 2018 season.
