Of all the athletes to grace the playing surface of Lambeau Field, Ahman Green ranks near the top. A member of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, Green is the all-time leading rusher for the Packers. Named for legendary sports broadcaster Ahmad Rashad, Ahman Green is an amazing piece of Packers history.
Green’s athletic legacy began in Omaha, Nebraska, where he not only was a standout football player, but also an outstanding track and field star and powerlifter. Not only was he the Nebraska “Player of the Year” in football, his 100 m dash time still ranks as the 10th best in state history and he placed 2nd at the High School Powerlifting Championships.
Staying in-state to play for his Nebraska Cornhuskers, Green was an integral part of two national championship squads while playing with Cornhusker legends Tommie Frazier and current Nebraska head coach Scott Frost. His junior year, he was named first-team All-Big 12 and was a finalist for the Doak Walker Award.
Drafted by the Seattle Seahawks, Green was traded to the Green Bay Packers two years later where he became a four-time Pro Bowler as well as being named the NFC Offensive Player of the Year in 2003. His breakthrough, record-setting 2003 season was followed by a game in 2004 where he threw a touchdown pass against the rival Detroit Lions.
Ahman Green and Bo Jackson are the only two players in NFL history to have more than one touchdown run of at least 90 yards.
Ahman Green is currently in both the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame as well as the University of Nebraska Football Hall of Fame and is available for athlete appearances. Green currently resides in Wisconsin but flies his Cornhusker flag proudly.
