Tucker Kraft already earned respect in Wisconsin for the way he plays. But during the last two seasons, the Green Bay Packers tight end has built something bigger than football. From helping Native youth in South Dakota to spending time with families across Wisconsin, Kraft has become one of the rare young NFL players fans connect with beyond Sundays.
That link grew even stronger on Aug. 22, 2025, when the Packers named Tucker Kraft the team’s 2025 community service award winner during the Green Bay Chamber of Commerce “Welcome Back Packers Luncheon” at Lambeau Field. The folks inside the atrium gave him a standing ovation before he even reached the stage.

What separates Tucker Kraft community work from the usual athlete charity appearances is how personal it feels. Kraft remains deeply connected to his hometown of Timber Lake, South Dakota, and to the Cheyenne River Reservation where he grew up.
During the NFL’s “My Cause, My Cleats” initiative in late 2024, Kraft chose to support the Cheyenne River Youth Project, a nonprofit that helps Native youth and families during the holiday season. The organization matches toys with children across the reservation and supports more than 1,000 kids every year.
Many kids from the reservation later traveled to Green Bay to appear in an NFL campaign commercial alongside Kraft. The project gained national attention during Monday Night Football and Thanksgiving broadcasts.
Julie Garreau, CEO of the Cheyenne River Youth Project, explained why Kraft’s support resonated so strongly. “Tucker says that where he comes from has made him into the player he is today,” Garreau said in a Dec. 2024 statement released through Native News Online.
Kraft repeated a similar message while accepting the Packers’ community service honor in Aug. 2025. “Where you’re from can never set a limit on where you want to go,” he told the audience during the luncheon at Lambeau Field.
The Green Bay Packers tight end has also spent time visiting patients at Children’s Wisconsin in Milwaukee, participating in fundraising events for pediatric research, working with families of fallen military members, and joining the Packers Tailgate Tour across Wisconsin.
That consistency has stood out inside the organization, too. Packers coach Matt LaFleur praised Kraft during the 2025 luncheon at Lambeau Field. “He does a great job representing what we want to be about with his actions on the field as well as off the field,” LaFleur said.
In 2026, Tucker Kraft continued to grow into one of the faces of the Packers franchise. Fans appreciate the touchdowns and energy. But his connection with the community may be the biggest reason his popularity keeps rising across Wisconsin.
