Mason Crosby was born on September 3, 1984 in Lubbock, Texas. Crosby attended Georgetown High School in Georgetown, Texas. As a junior and senior at Georgetown, Crosby earned first-team All-District 13-5A honors. Crosby went on to kick at the University of Colorado, where he had a stellar career. In four years with the Buffaloes, Crosby scored 326 points, which included 113 extra points and 71 field goals. Included in that was a school-record 60-yard field goal. Crosby won several honors at Colorado, as he was named Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year in 2005, was named first-team All-Big 12 three times and was twice named first-team All-American.
