Green Bay got good news on Dec. 5, 2024. DL Kenny Clark was chosen as a nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award. It is the league’s highest honour for community work. The choice comes with years of effort Clark has put in for kids and families in Wisconsin and Southern California. His influence goes far beyond football.

This is the second time Clark has received the team nomination. He was first selected in 2018. On Dec. 5, 2024, Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy acknowledged the decision in a statement released by the team.

“We are proud to nominate Kenny Clark for this prestigious award for the second time,” Murphy said. “A respected leader in the locker room, Kenny makes his presence known off the field, too. His commitment to the community, both in Green Bay and southern California, has only grown as he has excelled in his career.”

The star joined the NFL in 2016 and began using this opportunity as a medium to help youth. He further launched the Clark Family Dreams Do Come True Foundation. The organization aims to mentor young people and provide them with access to education, sports, and basic resources.

In July 2024, Clark hosted the eighth edition of the Kenny Clark Dreams Do Come True Football Camp in California. The camp welcomed many kids ‌free of cost.  Talented players and coaches joined him to teach football skills and life lessons.

In November 2024, the DL set up full Thanksgiving dinners for 250 families in Riverside, California. He also gave food packages to families in Wisconsin and celebrity dinners to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Green Bay. He held coat and toy drives in the winter to help kids during the holidays.

Clark stays active in Packers outreach. He signed autographs to raise funds for the Salvation Army. Not only that, but he also visited kids at Children’s Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He helped the Brown County Pals Program, which pairs kids in foster care with mentors. Also, he joined the Packers Tailgate Tour and travelled across Wisconsin to meet folks and increase funds for local charities.

One cause remains closest to him. Clark supports kids with incarcerated parents. Plus, it also raises funds for Angel Tree, which provides Christmas gifts for kids of incarcerated parents. That season, the honor went to Arik Armstead, but Clark's impact can't be denied.

Kenny Clark has made an indelible impact in Green Bay as one of the NFL’s most reliable defenders. Acquired as the first round in 2016, he became a three-time Pro Bowler and a long-term engine for the Packers' defence. On Aug. 27, 2025, the Big D made him the centerpiece of the trade that sent Micah Parsons to Green Bay.

That move quickly changed how Clark would be judged. In Dallas, he was no longer measured solely by consistency. He was expected to take care of defense. Two months into the season, the Big D still ranked 29th against the run and last in points allowed. Clark’s effort remained strong, but the team's results created a new reality. That is how a Packers star became a Cowboys question mark.

Kenny Clark is Now the Key to Dallas’ Defensive Reset

Kenny Clark

Big D did not acquire Clark for leadership alone. They believed he could stabilise the interior and force opponents to abandon the run. Owner Jerry Jones said the deal targeted the middle of the defensive line. While the overall numbers remain low, the internal data tells a deeper story.

Clark played all 17 games in 2025 and logged nearly 720 defensive snaps. He recorded three sacks, 15 pressures, and 29 run stops. Essentially, he faced a double-team rate of 64%, one of the highest among NFL DT. That constant spotlight freed LBs and edge rushers, even if the defence failed to capitalize consistently.

The star earned a 67.6 mark overall from Pro Football Focus. He hit 72.4 in pass rushing - good enough to land among the top quarter at his spot. Yet down low on running plays, he slipped to 53.7. One reason? Shouldering too much ground work behind a chaotic front setup.

Clark’s contract also shapes the debate. He carries a $21.5 million cap hit in 2026, but the Big D can move on with no dead cap. That makes him a pure football decision, not a financial one.

Inside the locker room, his value remains clear. After practice at The Star on Oct. 29, Clark said he felt supported by his teammates. HC Brian Schottenheimer praised his habits on October 25. DC Matt Eberflus said on October 14 that Clark’s discipline sets the standard. Teammate Osa Odighizuwa added on October 20 that Clark brings stability to the defensive front.

Clark is not declining. He is being asked to carry a reset. The star is no longer defined by where he came from, but by what he is helping build next.

The Packers have always needed tough guys in the middle of the defense. Karl Brooks and Kenny Clark both played that dirty-work role. They lined up inside, took hits, and did jobs that rarely make highlight reels. But their time in Green Bay unfolded very differently, shaped by how they entered the league and what the team asked of them.

Kenny Clark and Karl Brooks' Packers Careers

Kenny Clark

Kenny Clark walked in with first-round expectations in April 2016, and the Packers didn’t ease him in for long. By his second season, he was the starting nose tackle, the guy stuck eating double teams every Sunday. That job is not flashy, but it’s the spine of a run defense. Clark became that spine.

Even as coaching staffs turned over during the late 2010s into the early 2020s, he remained steady. Control defined how he played. Instead of chasing highlights, he sealed running lanes, pushed quarterbacks off balance from the interior, and cleared paths for linebackers to attack. By 2023, his impact stood clear - 7.5 sacks piled up, plenty for a player buried in the line week after week. Still, come 2024, even with a sore toe from day one, every single game found him on the field. His body held up - so did respect among teammates.

Clark’s Packers journey closed in Aug. 2025 when Green Bay included him in the trade that brought Micah Parsons. It was a business move tied to age and cap space, but it also underlined how big his presence had been for almost a decade.

Karl Brooks’ path looked nothing like that. He came in as a sixth-round pick in 2023 out of Bowling Green, basically fighting just to earn snaps. What helped him stick was versatility. Coaches moved him around the line and used his quick hands on passing downs.

Brooks made noise fast for a late pick. He picked up sacks, forced turnovers, and kept showing up around the ball. His biggest moment hit on Nov. 17, 2024, vs. the Bears, when he blocked Cairo Santos’ potential game-winning field goal as time expired. That gqme saved a 20–19 win and got him the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

As his role grew, the splash plays came less often, which is normal once teams ask you to handle steadier snaps. He settled in as a useful rotational lineman who could give energy and inside push.

That’s really the story here. Clark gave the Packers years of stability, leadership, and heavy lifting in the middle. Brooks brought juice, flexibility, and clutch moments when opportunities arose. Same position, different vibes. Both helped the defence, just in their own style.

The Cowboys did not trade for Kenny Clark to be a backup piece. They brought him to fix a problem in the middle of their defense. Dallas struggled to stop inside runs last season. Now they have a veteran who plays strong, fast, and angry in the trenches. The big question is simple. How much can Clark still give at age 30?

Kenny Clark Adds Power, Experience, and an Edge that Dallas Badly Lacked

Kenny Clark

Big D landed Clark just days before Week 1, and he jumped straight into action on Sept. 5, 2025, against Philadelphia. He played 40 defensive snaps even though he had just learned the playbook. That tells you how badly the Cowboys needed him.

Clark’s biggest value comes against the run. He holds his ground. He does not get pushed off the ball. When he locks into a gap, runners have to bounce outside. That helps linebackers flow cleanly to the ball. Teammates noticed it right away.

“That man is fire,” Cowboys edge rusher Sam Williams said on Sept. 9, during a media session at The Star in Frisco, per CBS. “He’s violent. He’s attacking. He’s disruptive.” Williams said Clark’s energy spreads across the line. That kind of tone matters in a defence that looked soft inside at times last year.

Clark also brings pass rush from the interior. He is not just a space eater. He owns multiple seasons with five or more sacks in his career. Interior pressure forces quarterbacks to move off their spot. That helps Big D edge rushers finish plays. Even when Clark does not get the sack, he collapses the pocket.

There is also the experience factor. Clark entered the league in 2016. He has played playoff games and big division battles. Dallas has young tackles like Mazi Smith and others who are still learning. Clark gives them a steady voice next to them.

Of course, this is not a ten-year solution. Clark turns 30 this season. Interior linemen take a beating every snap. Dallas needs impact now, not later. That is why this move makes sense in the short term.

If Clark keeps controlling the middle, Dallas’ defence gets tougher on early downs. That leads to more third-and-long situations. That is where this defence can hunt. That is exactly why the Cowboys made this move.

The Big D defense did not struggle in 2025 solely because of talent. Dallas had playmakers up front and speed at every level. The problems showed up in execution. Missed tackles extended drives. Third-down stops slipped away because of penalties or blown coverages. The defense flashed ability but did not play with steady discipline.

Kenny Clark addressed that issue directly on Jan 1, 2026, in a locker room interview with The Dallas Morning News. The veteran DT skipped scheme talk and focused on mentality. “I just think we need a bunch of dogs. A bunch of guys who truly love and care about football and not just going on the football field expecting to make plays,” Clark said. His message focused on effort, preparation, and pride in doing the small things right every snap.

Kenny Clark Backs Up His Words With Leadership and Production in Dallas

Kenny Clark

Weight behind Clark's words comes from his debut impact with Big D. That year, the thirty-year-old defensive tackle showed up in 2025 via the deal shipping Micah Parsons to Green Bay - one shift that redrawn Dallas' entire defensive look. For an inside lineman, fitting into fresh schemes often trips them up; yet here, he stood firm at the core.

His impact has not gone unnoticed inside the building. On Dec 29, Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan, “Kenny has just been more than advertised for us. He's a leader. He's great on the field. He's great off the field. He's a guy we want to have around here.” That praise highlights Clark’s role beyond stats. He sets the tone in meetings and on practice fields.

Production still matters, and Clark delivered there, too. He had 3 sacks heading into the regular season finale against the N.Y. Giants. Interior pressure rarely shows up in big numbers, but it disrupts protections and forces quarterbacks to move off their spot.

That background explains why Clark spoke up. He has played in disciplined defensive systems before and understands what consistent effort looks like. When he says the Cowboys need “dogs,” he means players who pursue every snap, communicate before the play, and finish tackles.

How to Bring Kenny Clark for Speaking Engagement?

Kenny Clark brings the same leadership and steady presence off the field that he shows every Sunday in the NFL. Kenny Clark speaking engagement, appearances, and special events are available through Mayfield Sports, his official booking and marketing representative. The agency works directly with organizations to set up events and streamline booking.

The Packers had no answers on Jan. 5, 2026. Baltimore ran straight through them in a 41-24 loss that fell by halftime. The Ravens finished with 307 rushing yards at M&T Bank Stadium. Derrick Henry alone accounted for 216 of them. Green Bay defenders bounced off blocks. Gaps stayed open. The line lost control early and never recovered.

Injuries mattered, but they did not tell the whole story. Micah Parsons and Devonte Wyatt were both out, yet the bigger issue was the lack of a steady presence inside. The Packers needed someone to calm the chaos. Someone who knows how to anchor a front when things start slipping. That is why Kenny Clark’s name has come back into the picture.

Kenny Clark Still Brings Stability, Strength, and Trust

Kenny Clark

Clark remains one of the most dependable interior defenders in football. He does not chase headlines. He wins snaps. He holds ground. He forces offenses to adjust. Traded to Dallas in Aug. 2025 as part of the Micah Parsons deal, Clark continued to do what he has always done. He lined up, took on double teams, and kept the middle clean.

His future with the Big D, though, is not guaranteed. On Dec 23, 2025, Spotrac editor Mike Ginnitti addressed Clark’s contract on The Spotrac Podcast while discussing Dallas’ cap outlook.

“So what happens to Kenny Clark? There’s no guarantee,” Ginnitti said during the episode. “You can move on and free up $21.5 million. There’s a huge roster bonus in March. This is going to be a March situation.”

However, given his talent and prowess, he has a good chance of joining a reputable franchise.

If that door opens, Green Bay makes sense immediately. Clark knows the defense. He knows the building. He knows what winning football looks like in that locker room. Drafted 27th overall in 2016, he spent nine seasons becoming one of the quiet leaders of the franchise.

A reunion would also help Devonte Wyatt, who is expected back in 2026 after his Thanksgiving ankle injury. Clark’s presence would take pressure off younger linemen and bring order back to the interior.

The Packers want to compete again next season. The Ravens' loss showed what happens when there's no control up front. Bringing Kenny Clark back would not be nostalgia. It would be a smart move built on trust, toughness, and proven results.

Big D closed the season without a playoff run, but now football took a step back for DE Kenny Clark. The vet lineman shared a personal message on Insta that shifted focus away from wins and losses and toward family, gratitude, and perspective.

Early Sunday, Clark posted a series of photos featuring his father, Kenneth Clark Sr., alongside family moments. The caption conveyed calm reflection rather than heartbreak. It showed appreciation for time spent rather than focus on the pain of separation.

Clark's post reads, “God gave us 3 years to be with you again, and we enjoyed every second of it. I’m just thankful to be a part of your story, big homie. I love you ♾️ Rest In Peace, Dad 🕊️.”

The timing followed a challenging season for Dallas, yet Clark’s message carried clarity. It reminded fans and teammates that careers move fast, but personal moments matter more. Within minutes, the post drew attention from across the NFL, setting a supportive and respectful tone.

George Pickens and the NFL Community Support Kenny Clark in Tough Times

Kenny Clark

Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Kenny Clark speaks to media on May 10, 2023, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis.

Cowboys WR George Pickens was among those who responded publicly. Pickens commented directly under Clark’s Instagram post. His message stayed simple and sincere. “🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 prayers to you and your family,” Pickens wrote, reflecting the mood shared across the league.

Clark’s relationship with his father added depth to the moment. Kenneth Clark Sr. spent close to 19 years in prison while his son built his NFL career. Despite that distance, Clark often spoke about staying connected. When his father was released in 2023, the family reunited after nearly two decades apart. Those three years became central to Clark’s life, as he clearly acknowledged in his post.

Fans from different teams joined the conversation. Messages focused on family, faith, and appreciation for second chances. Many addressed Clark’s entire family, not just the player. The comments showed understanding rather than curiosity. Clark did not share the cause of death and did not follow up publicly.

As the Cowboys move into the offseason, Clark’s message continues to resonate. It highlighted maturity, gratitude, and balance.

The Green Bay Packers' defense has some extra pressure on them with a new quarterback at the helm. However, the defense is loaded with first-round picks, Pro Bowlers, and All-Pros. One of those talented stars is defensive tackle, Kenny Clark.

Clark was drafted by the Packers in 2016 and has been a force on their defensive line. He has primarily played nose tackle, but he could see some more snaps at defensive end in 2023 as the Packers try to get all of their talent on the field at once.

Packers Kenny Clark Could Play Defensive Tackle & End in 2023

Why Would Clark Play DE?

Kenny Clark is one of the best defensive tackles in the NFL and has been a consistent force for the Packers in his NFL career. Clark is also proven to be consistently available for the team. In seven seasons, he has only missed seven games. He has been named to the Pro Bowl twice in his career. In 2022, the Green Bay Packers drafted Devonte Wyatt from the University of Georgia.

Wyatt and Clark both play defensive tackle. Towards the end of the season, Wyatt had earned himself more and more snaps and was really showing what he could do. His development allows the Packers to move Clark to take more defensive end snaps so that he and Wyatt can both cause problems for offenses at the same time. Wyatt is a young player and not at the same level as Clark. It would be easier for Clark to take snaps at the defensive end due to his experience in the NFL.

In addition to Wyatt's emergence, the Packers lost veteran defensive ends Dean Lowry and Jarran Reed in free agency. Clark could easily take some more snaps at the defensive end and let Devonte Wyatt and Tedarrell Slaton continue to grow.

What Does Kenny Clark Think?

Kenny Clark seems to like the idea of moving around, as it lets the Packers get all of their playmakers on the field. The Packers value versatility up front, and Kenny Clark feels he can play anywhere.

"Wherever they need me to fit I’m fitting in at and I’m comfortable with that. I feel like I can play everywhere, regardless, the 5 [technique], the 3 [technique], the nose. When it comes game time, I think I’m going to be all over the field. So, it’s going to be cool for us. I like it.

- Kenny Clark at OTAs via Forbes

Clark is now the veteran leader on the defense, and he is still only 27. Clark is not only a mentor to the young defensive linemen on the team but is now one of the longest-tenured Packers in the locker room.

Kenny Clark has become a fan favorite in Green Bay during his time with the Packers. Green Bay selected Clark with the 27th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. In 2020, Clark signed a four-year $70 million deal with the Green Bay Packers. That deal will keep him in Green Bay through the 2024 season.

Flash forward to 2022, and he started in every one of the 17 games he played. The two-time Pro Bowler earned 53 total tackles, 27 solo tackles, 10 quarterback hits, five tackles for loss and one forced fumble last season.  In early March, the Packers restructured the defensive lineman's contract. According to Field Yates of ESPN, that restructure created a little over $11 million in salary cap space.

Recently, Kenny Clark made appearances at local schools in the state of Wisconsin that left a lasting impact.

Kenny Clark Partnered With the Indian-Head Community Outreach Group To Tour Local Schools in Wisconsin

Kenny Clark, along with Mark Mayfield, surprised four middle schools and high schools in one day in Northwest Wisconsin. Those schools included Abbotsford, Medford, Flambeau and Ladysmith.

"I received a warm welcome and introduction at each school," Mark Mayfield said.  "Little did the students know that an All-Pro nose tackle from the Green Bay Packers was going to join me for a short discussion."

"It was a special experience," Mayfield said. "At each location, I would read off Kenny’s bio, highlighting where he’s from, where he went to school and being a two-time, All-Pro, with the transition into a lightning round with questions about his favorite food, vacation, destinations, other sports he played at high school, funniest, teammate music and the actual phone call on Draft day when he was elected by the Green Bay Packers in the first round."

Additional things that were discussed were Kenny Clark's nutrition and off-field exercises. In recent years it has changed in some ways that started to include pilates and yoga.

"We would then finish our time with the students with a question-and-answer session," Mayfield said. "Students could ask questions about his teammates, goals, mentors, and his future. One of my favorite things about this community outreach program was Kenny answered it all for schools, saying 'I just want to be the best me that I can be.'"
