Every year, several Green Bay Packers alumni gather at the Fox Valley Mall in Appleton, Wisc. for the annual “Holidays with the Pack” autograph event. The Green Bay Packers have a long, storied history. Throughout this history, numerous running backs have made their mark on the franchise. Several of them, such as Tony Canadeo, Jim Taylor, and Paul Hornung, have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Dorsey Levens helped the Packers win Super Bowl XXXI, and Ahman Green is the franchise’s all-time leading rusher. However, few backs have produced at such a high level on and off the field as current RB and Walter Payton Man of the Year Nominee Aaron Jones.
This past Sunday, against the Chicago Bears, Jones eclipsed 5,000 rushing yards for his career. He became just the fourth running back in Packers history to reach that mark in a Packers uniform. As mentioned, Green is the Packers’ all-time rushing leader with 8,322 yards. Jim Taylor is second with 8,207. Finally, the only other Packers running back ahead of Aaron Jones is John Brockington, who ran for 5,024 yards in his career.
As of Week 14, Aaron Jones has 5,010 career rushing yards.

In the past 15 years, it has not been often when Aaron Rodgers has not been on the field leading the Green Bay Packers offense. Unfortunately, Sunday night proved to be one of those rare instances in which the four-time MVP and future Hall of Famer was unable to finish the game. A rib injury and concern over damage to his internal organs forced Rodgers from the game. While it is never a good thing to see any player go down with an injury, it is even more concerning when it is the franchise player. Fortunately for the Packers, Jordan Love stepped in and dazzled fans, teammates, and the Eagles’ defense with his play.
2020 NFL draft pick Jordan Love entered the game midway through the third quarter. He promptly marched the Packers downfield on a scoring drive that was capped with a Christian Watson touchdown reception. By the games' conclusion, Love had completed six of his nine passes for 113 passing yards and a touchdown.
Although the Packers lost to the Eagles 40-33, Jordan Love’s fantastic play was the talk of social media and news outlets for days. Of course, his Packers teammates were highly complimentary of him, as all good teammates are. Aaron Rodgers even said he felt like, “a proud big brother” watching Love finish the game.
Perhaps, though, some of the highest praise came from Darius Slay, the Pro Bowl defensive back of the Eagles, the very team Love played against. On his own podcast, Slay stated that when Love came in, the Eagles were excited. They expected to shut the young quarterback down quickly. As it turned out, that was not to be the case. Slay said he was very impressed with Love’s play and that “Green Bay has a bright future.” He mentioned how easy it was to see how much Love has learned from Rodgers and that it felt like Rodgers was still in the game with how decisive Love was with his throws.
Now the rest of the NFL finally knows what the Packers organization has seen in Jordan Love. His future is, indeed, very bright.

The 2022 Green Bay Packers season has not gone as planned (thus far). As a result of injuries and other factors, players that were backups are now in positions to be major contributors. One of these players is defensive back Keisean Nixon.
Keisean Nixon came to the Green Bay Packers in free agency. Before becoming the Packers kick returner, Nixon played for the Las Vegas Raiders. Of course, current special teams coach Rich Bisaccia held the same title in Las Vegas (along with being the interim head coach in 2021). When the Raiders released Nixon, Bisaccia encouraged the Packers' front office to bring him to Green Bay.
When the Packers first signed Nixon, it was with the understanding that he would be a special teams contributor. However, Nixon also showed flashes of brilliant play as a defensive back during training camp. His play was enough for the Packers to add him to the 53-man roster.
Though Keisean Nixon did not see much playing time to start the season, he has become one of the team's most important players. While playing 20% of the Packers' defensive plays so far, he has registered 15 tackles and a forced fumble. As a kick returner, Nixon has three consecutive games with over 100 return yards, bringing life to a position where the Packers have historically struggled.
In Philadelphia this week, Nixon had 172 kickoff return yards, tying for the 10th most for a single game in Packers history. He currently ranks second in the league in kick return average (minimum of 20 returns).

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, stats aside, is one of the most underrated wide receivers in the NFL. One can see how drastically the Packers' offense changed once he was no longer a part of it. MVS was born on October 10, 1994 in St. Petersburg, Florida. He attended Lakewood High School in the city where he was a standout wide receiver. In his senior season, Marquez Valdes-Scantling's stats included 50 receptions for 800 yards and 14 touchdowns.
MVS played his college career with NC State and USF. He spent the first two years of his college career at NC State where he had 44 receptions for 538 yards and one touchdown. MVS sat out the 2015 season after transferring to USF for a bigger role. It paid off.
In his first season at USF, Marquez Valdes-Scantling's stats totaled 22 receptions for 415 yards and five touchdowns. The next year, he nearly matched his career totals up to that point in a single season. As a senior, Marquez Valdes-Scantling's stats included 53 receptions for 879 yards and six touchdowns.
The Green Bay Packers selected MVS in the fifth round (174th overall pick) of the 2018 NFL Draft. Even though he received minimal playing time early in the season, Marquez Valdes-Scantling finished the year seventh among NFL rookies in receiving yards. He finished the season with 38 receptions for 581 yards and two touchdowns.
In 2019, Marquez Valdes-Scantling's stats accumulated for 26 receptions for 452 yards and another two touchdowns. The best was yet to come. The next season, 2020, was his best for the Packers. That year, he had 33 receptions for 690 yards and six touchdowns while leading the NFL with 20.9 yards per reception. During the NFC Championship game, he was the most stellar performer on the offense, hauling in four receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown.
In 2021, MVS was hampered by a hamstring injury, but still found a way to be productive when he was on the field. Playing 11 games, Marquez Valdes-Scantling's stats totaled 26 receptions for 430 yards and three touchdowns.
After becoming a free agent, MVS signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. So far this season, the Chiefs have the Marquez Valdes-Scantling stats tallied to 23 receptions for 381 yards.

Former Green Bay Packers cornerback Chandon Sullivan is one of the true feel-good stories in the NFL. Once an undrafted free agent, Sullivan signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018. After his rookie season, he signed with the Green Bay Packers and spent the next three seasons of his career with the Green and Gold. Former Green Bay Packers fullback John Kuhn is one of the most recognizable names from the Super Bowl XLV team. After playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers for his rookie season in 2006, the Packers signed him. What followed was a nine-year stint that saw the Packers transition from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers, from a team rebuilding to a Super Bowl champion.
While there are players with better accolades, Kuhn was the workhorse doing all the dirty work asked of him. Whether it was blocking defensive ends in the passing game, taking on linebackers in the run game, or bullying his way for a one-yard first down or score, John Kuhn was as reliable a player as the Packers had.
In his nine seasons with the Packers, Kuhn had 601 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns. He also had 557 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Kuhn then spent two seasons with the New Orleans Saints at the end of his career. He since returned to Wisconsin and has become a major player in the sports media market.
Green Bay Packers fans can see Kuhn working as a reporter on the sidelines and in the booth before and during Packers games. The Georgia Bulldogs are ranked as the top college football team in the country. The Georgia Football program is among the best in the nation and has been for quite some time. Several former Georgia Football players are now high-profile NFL players. In the past, Mayfield Sports Marketing has coordinated several events and signings with some of these Georgia athletes.
The Green Bay Packers made Quay Walker the first of their first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. Walker played for Georgia from 2018-2021. He first saw consistent playing time in 2019 when he played in 11 games. Walker had 23 tackles that season, including 2.5 sacks. In 2020, Walker nearly doubled his tackle numbers, racking up 43 in 10 games. Of course, Georgia Football and it's players won the National Championship in 2021, and Walker was a big part of the defense that led them. That year, Walker had 65 tackles, including 5.5 for a loss. He also deflected three passes.
Since joining the Packers, Quay Walker has started every game that they have played. When All-Pro De’Vondre Campbell went down with an injury, the Packers gave Walker the green dot. He has truly emerged as a great young leader on the defense. So far this season, he is the only rookie defender to amass five tackles or more in each game that he has played.
Current Green Bay cornerback Eric Stokes is another one of the former Georgia Football players on the Packers, playing in Athens from 2018-2020. The speedy defensive back made a splash in his freshman season, scoring a touchdown on the only punt he attempted to return. He played in nine games and recorded 20 tackles. During his sophomore season in 2019, Stokes played 13 games, recorded 38 tackles, and forced a fumble. He also recorded a sack during this campaign. 2020, his Junior season, saw Stokes elevate his game even more. In nine games, Stokes had 20 tackles and four interceptions. He returned two of those four interceptions for touchdowns.
Eric Stokes was one of the latest Georgia Football players to move to Green Bay when the Packers took him in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He started 14 games for the Packers as a rookie while playing in 16. Stokes deflected 14 passes and had an interception. The most impressive stat, though, was a 49.5% completion percentage.
Even when he was in college, it was easy to see that Champ Bailey would be a special player. Alongside a talented group of Georgia Football players, Bailey did it all. As a wide receiver, he amassed 59 receptions for 978 yards and five touchdowns. This is quite impressive considering he only played receiver for two years. As a kick returner, he recorded 511 return yards on 23 kickoff returns, also in two seasons. As a defender, though, Bailey really stood out. In 1998, he won the Bronko Narguski Award, given to the nation’s most outstanding defensive player.
In an NFL Career that spanned 15 years, Bailey was a 12-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro. His time spent with the Washington Commanders and Denver Broncos saw him amass 52 career interceptions, including 10 in 2006. Champ Bailey was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2019.

His best season for Green Bay was his rookie season when he had 818 all-purpose yards and six touchdowns. In 2019, Williams displayed his talents in the Packers’ passing game. That season, he had 253 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Williams also added 460 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.
After signing with the Detroit Lions, Jamaal Williams saw his role increase. As a result, he has already surpassed his total touchdowns with the Packers. In just a year and a half with Detroit, Williams has 11 touchdowns. So far this season, he has 545 rushing yards and the aforementioned eight touchdowns.
