Kevin King was born on May 5, 1995, in Oakland, California. King was named first-team All-East Bay by the Contra Costa Times as a senior at Bishop O’Dowd High School in Oakland, where he was coached by former NFL player (and former Green Bay Packer) Hardy Nickerson. King also received honors from the San Francisco Chronicle as he received first-team all-metro recognition. Plus also got recognized by MaxPreps.com, where he received first-team All-NorCal and first-team Division III all-state honors.

The 6’3″, 200-pound King went to the University of Washington where he played with the Huskies for four years. King played in 43 games, where he amassed 164 total tackles, had 9.5 tackles for a loss, had six interceptions, defended 22 passes, recovered two fumbles and forced two fumbles. As a junior, King was named honorable mention on the All-Pac-12 team. As a senior, King was also named honorable mention in the Pac-12, plus was honorable mention on the Academic All-Pac-12 team.

King was drafted in the second round of the 2017 NFL draft by the Green Bay Packers with the 33rd overall pick, after the Packers traded out of the first round with the Cleveland Browns. King only played in nine games (starting five) his rookie year, as he suffered a torn labrum in his left shoulder. King had 28 tackles in 2017, plus defended on five passes. In 2018, injury issues sidelined King for much of the season, as he only played in six games, in which he started in all six of them. Still, King had 17 tackles, one interception, two passes defended and one fumble recovery. In 2019, King played in 15 games and started in 14 of them and had his best year as a pro. King had 66 tackles, three tackles for a loss, one sack, five interceptions (for 54 yards), 15 passes defended and one forced fumble.
