Despite the challenges in maintain a relationship the given circumstances, Kenny Sr. has kept an important role in the family including being involved with Kenny Jr.’s recruiting process.  Although the relationship between Kenny Sr. and Kenny Jr. is atypical, an unbreakable, albeit uncommon, father-son relationship has been further strengthened by the test of time.

Kenny Clark Jr. was drafted out of UCLA after declaring for the NFL draft as a Junior, and being named to the All Pac 12 1st Team, and All American 3rd team.  Kenny Clark Jr. played in all 39 games during his 3 years at UCLA- included starting 29 consecutive games spanning the last three games of his Freshman year- through his last game as a Junior.  In the First Round of the 2016 NFL Draft, with the 27th overall pick, Kenny Jr. was selected by the 13 Time World Champion Green Bay Packers.  Upon hearing of his selection, one of the first people Kenny spoke with?  Kenny Clark Sr.

Mayfield Sports Marketing Welcomes Packers TE Jared Cook Aboard!

Mayfield Sports Marketing is happy to announce we are now accepting inquiries, appearance information, booking requests and autograph session rates for Packers Tight End Jared Cook.

At 6’5’ and 254 lbs., Jared is an extremely talented and versatile player while many view him as a reliable pass-catching threat since entering the NFL in 2009- as a third round draft pick by the Tennessee Titans of South Carolina University.

Cook comes to Green Bay after four seasons with Tennessee and three with St. Louis playing in 107/112 games on teams that failed to reach the playoffs in each of his first 7 seasons.

It has been widely noted that Cook wound up in Green Bay in large part because Cook prioritized playing for team that has a number of veteran play makers, and playing with (arguably) the league’s best Quarterback is surely a welcome change of scenery.

Cook’s receiving ability should give Packers’ fans plenty to cheer about this year, and will allow Aaron manipulate the in game matchups more than in recent seasons.  Cook will pair nicely with fellow TE Richard Rodgers who is more of a balanced Tight End that thrives in the running game and play action situations while Cook generally plays to his strengths as a receiving threat.

Upon signing with the Packers in late March, Cook said of Rodgers:

““I think I was more excited than he was”

On Monday August 29, we had the pleasure of booking Gilbert for the ClubHouse Live Show in Appleton. We enjoy working with Brett, Joel and the ClubHouse Team. They do an amazing job. We have been to and produced 100's, probably a 1000 interviews, over the years. Sometimes, you hear something from an athlete is that 100% real. Monday was one of those times with Gilbert Brown. Gilbert told several stories, some never heard before and had everyone laughing.

Then it happened. Brett asked Gilbert about his mission to stop bullying. Bullying at school, bullying at the work place, any type of bullying. The message was loud and very clear.

See Gilbert doesn't hold back on this issue. Take a listen. http://www.packersnews.com/videos/sports/nfl/packers/clubhouse-live/2016/08/30/89570100/

Gilbert has spoken all around Wisconsin and Michigan about bullying. If you may wish to book him to speak at your school, church, company or to your sports team, contact us at 262.366.8188 or Mark@MayfieldSports.com

This is a great article on Mike Daniels and Kenny Clark. We just had an event last week with Mike Daniels and Van Horn Truck. We talked about Kenny Clark - how humble he is, work ethic and how he is "ready to learn." So, it is not a surprise during the first week of camp, we all see Daniels conveying the sense of urgency for Clark to "be ready in three  weeks." We have no doubt Clark will be ready for Week 1 especially with Daniels in his ear.

Packers' veteran D-lineman Mike Daniels conveying urgency to first-round rookie

GREEN BAY – Rookie Kenny Clark should be ready to play in Week 1.

Fellow Packers defensive lineman Mike Daniels plans to make sure of it.

In Tuesday’s first practice of training camp, Daniels could be seen – and certainly heard – getting on Clark for messing up in an 11-on-11 period. There was no first-day grace period for the first-round draft pick from UCLA.

Discussing it after practice on Wednesday, Clark sounded like a player who wouldn’t have it any other way. He not only wants to earn the veterans’ respect, but he understands how important it is that he be all systems go when the first regular-season game rolls around.

“Just from yesterday, I get that sense,” Clark said. “They’re not putting any kind of pressure on me, they’re just making sure that, ‘You need to be solid. We want you to be good.’“I’m taking all that in, and I’m excited for it. I’ve been around people like that all my life, been around hard coaching all my life, so I love it. I’m only going to get better.”

The urgency comes from the defensive line’s need to replace B.J. Raji, and from the four-game suspension for third-year pro Mike Pennel to start the season.

Clark, fourth-round pick  Dean Lowry, practice-squad holdover Ringo, and anyone else that can help in Week 1 will be needed. With Datone now working more with the outside linebackers, Daniels and Guion are the Packers’ only pure down linemen with NFL experience.

Daniels’ outburst was a loud reminder that every practice matters for the unit to develop as quickly as it must.

“Sometimes you need to do that,” Daniels said. “With a guy like (Clark), I didn’t even have to do it. He’s already humming, but still, it’s my duty to set the tone.

“Every day is important. We need you to be a vet … in about three weeks.”

By the end of Tuesday’s practice, the defensive line was celebrating a few dominant reps by Clark. The rookie views consistency as his primary goal in training camp, so his teammates and coaches know they can count on him.

If that means taking an earful from Daniels or Guion once in a while, so be it.

“He was just being Mike Daniels and got fired up, and he got me going,” Clark said.

“Those guys are doing everything in their power to make sure I’m straight, make sure I’m doing my job. We have to count on everybody. They don’t want anybody slacking, and they want everybody to be on the same page.”It’s only been two non-padded practices and a few head-to-head snaps, but Pro Bowl guard Josh Sitton is impressed with what he’s seen from Clark so far. The two may have more one-on-one battles in pass-rush drills later in camp, but Sitton already knows he won’t feel like he’s facing a 20-year-old rookie during those reps.

“I would say the way he’s able to use his hands already, he seems a little older, more mature I guess,” Sitton said. “A lot of young guys kind of just play into you and don’t really keep using their hands, and that’s something I’ve noticed over the two days. He’s really good with his hands.”

Beginning Thursday morning, Clark will start to show what he brings in full pads. He can’t wait.

Neither can Daniels.

“Tomorrow,” he said, “we’re really going to see what these guys are made of.”

Mayfield Sports is proud to announce our client and friend, Packers Ty Montgomery, will be the NEW Clubhouse Live Host starting this fall.

You know Ty Montgomery as the Green Bay Packers’ talented, versatile and rising young wide receiver who embraces the mega challenge of making sure he gives The Man (aka two-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers) good routes, good hands and a good target.

Those of us at Clubhouse Live know him to be a good choice. A really good choice.

When he’s not busy running slants, outs, hitches and posts this season — not to mention fending off defenders with jarring stiff arms — the 23-year-old Montgomery will also serve as the new co-host of our award-winning Packers show. Excuse us while we celebrate with a Lambeau Leap of our own.

Clubhouse Live is produced by USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin and can be seen Mondays during the Packers season at 6:30 p.m. from The Clubhouse Sports Pub & Grill inside the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in downtown Appleton.

The popular show, hosted by yours truly and colleagues Ricardo Arguello and Sarah Riley, can also be seen live online at clubhouselive.com.

Montgomery and his outgoing and engaging disposition will be a perfect fit for Clubhouse Live, which doesn’t focus as much on the Xs and Os as it does in prying out the personalities of the guys who wear the Packers’ green and gold.

Sure, we’ll look back on the big game, take a peek at what’s next on the schedule and discuss some of the NFL’s trends and issues.

But think of Clubhouse Live as a football show that’s not always about football.

For example, did you know Montgomery has aspirations of joining the FBI once he’s done with football?

“I sort of look at my life as a way that I’m not living just for myself,” Montgomery explained last season while appearing as a guest on our Oct. 19 show. “I see my life as just something for other people to see. I just feel like I’m supposed to do things for other people.”

Did you know right tackle Bryan Bulaga is confident he can stripe a golf ball as well as anyone on the team?

“I’m OK,” Bulaga said with a knowing grin during his Nov. 9 appearance. “I can get up and down the course. Not bad.”

Did you know running back Eddie Lacy is a big fan of the Hulk?

“I like the Hulk because he just messes everything up that’s in his way,” Lacy said during our Oct. 5 show, moments before he showcased his mad beatboxing skills. “He really doesn’t care about all of that once he becomes the green angry guy. But when he’s not the green angry guy, he’s like such a cool, smart, nerdy, personable kind of person, which is what I am — minus the nerdy part. … So we’re the same person.”

And did you know teammates have had trouble spelling and saying the last name of left tackle David Bakhtiari, who ably served as our co-host a season ago?

“We couldn’t pronounce his name his rookie year, so we called him ‘bacteria,’ ” left guard Josh Sitton said to laughter during a guest appearance in November.

Our eighth season of Clubhouse Live will kick off Aug. 29. Montgomery is scheduled to join the show Sept. 12, and he’ll be bringing teammate guests throughout the season.

Look for details and other show information on our Facebook page at facebook.com/mayfieldsport If your group or conference are interested in booking Ty for an upcoming event, please click here.

What else do we know about Montgomery?

He’s a political science major. He lettered in baseball, basketball, football, lacrosse and track in high school. He grew up in a family that raised foster children.

And he’s darn good at using a straw to transfer M&Ms from one bowl to another.

Wait … what?

Sorry, you’ll have to check out Clubhouse Live to find out what that’s all about.

By the way, you should have seen one of the games we had the guys play last season.

It involved bowls, spoons, Ping-Pong balls — and two less-than-enthusiastic 300-pound NFL offensive linemen.

And somehow, we lived to tell about it. Great article by Brett Christopherson
