The Packers added a lot of new faces to the team in the 2023 NFL Draft. Their first selection in the draft was Lukas Van Ness, an explosive EDGE from Iowa. Van Ness, nicknamed Hercules, will join a talented group of pass rushers and try to make an immediate impact for the Packers.

The Packers have been keen on drafting players who test well athletically under Brian Gutekunst. Van Ness clearly fits their type. He had a RAS score of 9.39.

Lukas Van Ness posted a 4.58 40-yard dash and a 31" vertical. His combination of speed and ability to get vertical make him an interesting piece on the Packers' defense. The Packers are not only getting a fast and strong pass rusher, but they are also getting length and size with Van Ness. His physical traits certainly give him the ability to play in multiple positions.

Jonathan Taylor has established himself as one of the best running backs in the NFL. Following a stellar career with the Wisconsin Badgers, the Colts drafted Talor with the 41st overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
He rushed for 1,169 yards as a rookie, adding 12 total touchdowns and nearly 300 receiving yards. Taylor was named First-Team All-Pro in 2021 after totaling over 2,000 combined yards and 20 touchdowns.
2022 proved to be a difficult year for the Colts as a whole, firing head coach Frank Reich in Week 10. Taylor was limited to 11 games but still averaged over 4.5 yards per carry.
However, Jonathan will look to get back to his All-Pro level of play under a new head coach and offensive coordinator.
The Colts have injected more playmakers into the offense, so teams can not focus solely on Taylor. The team drafted Anthony Richardson, who may give them a major upgrade as a passer. They also added talented rookie receiver, Josh Downs, adding more speed to help the chains.
Regardless of Richardson's development as a passer, he will give opponents another rushing threat to account for. This will make Taylor's job easier.
The Colts are clearly focused on ensuring their offense is on par with some of the best in the league. New head coach Shane Steichen was the offensive coordinator for the Eagles in 2022. In Philidelphia, Steichen got the most out of Miles Sanders, who ran for over 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns. He now has Jonathan Taylor at his disposal.
Steichen and Richardson will obviously go a long way in Taylor getting back to his 2022 form. However, he will go a long way in helping them as well. The former Wisconsin Badger spoke about how he looks to help his young quarterback.

Eddie Lacy joined a loaded running back room at Alabama. The presence of Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson led to Lacy being redshirted as a freshman. That team went on to win the 2009 BCS National Championship. In 2010 Lacy found a spot on the team behind Ingram and Richardson. He went on to have a good season despite being behind to Alabama greats.
In 2011, after Mark's departure to the NFL, Eddie Lacy burst onto the scene. He ran for over 600 yards and seven touchdowns while sharing the backfield with Trent Richardson. He would also win a second BCS National Championship.
The 2012 season was Lacy's final and best season in Tuscaloosa. He was the true starter for the first time in college and ran for 1,322 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also caught two touchdowns. In the BCS Championship Game against Notre Dame, he had 140 rushing yards and two total touchdowns. This earned him the honor of Offensive MVP of the game. He would declare for the NFL Draft after the season concluded.
Lacy was the fourth running back selected in the 2013 NFL Draft when Ted Thompson and the Green Bay Packers picked him at 61 overall.
In his rookie season, Lacy was an instant difference-maker. He ran for 1,178 yards and 11 touchdowns in his first year and was named AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. He would also earn AP Second-Team All-Pro honors. Lacy would play three more seasons in Green Bay and rush for 12 touchdowns before signing with the Seattle Seahawks.
