Today’s featured Mayfield Sports athlete is former Packers running back Dorsey Levens (@DorseyLevens on twitter).  Levens was born on May 21st, 1970 in Syracuse, New York. He attended Nottingham High School in Syracuse where he lettered all 4 years. He also earned various All-League, All-State, and All-America honors. In addition to playing positions on both sides of the ball on the football field, Levens was also a pretty good basketball player as he lettered 3 years and was captain of the team his senior year. For college he initially went to Notre Dame where injuries and competition from other future NFL running backs limited his production his first two seasons. He therefore transferred to Georgia Tech. In his two seasons as a Yellow Jacket he compiled over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns running. His senior season he was an All-ACC selection and set the Georgia Tech record with 7.2 yards per carry. After being picked in the 5th round of the 1994 draft by Green Bay, Levens played various back up roles for the first few seasons. After a good postseason in 1996 when the Packers won the Super Bowl, Levens opened the 1997 season as the starter. Having a spectacular first season as a starter he rushed for over 1,400 yards while earning a trip to the Pro Bowl, All-Pro honors, and helping the Packers return to the Super Bowl. In the 1998 season he injured his knee again and was unable to return to his top form. After being released by Green Bay in 2001 he spent some time with the Giants and Eagles where he last played in 2004. He officially retired in 2006 as a Packer. As a result of all of his contributions he was elected into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in 2009.

Besides running back, Levens played quarterback for one year of Pop Warner football and also played fullback and linebacker in high school. He also kicked and punted. His favorite thing about playing for Green Bay was waking up on game days and going to the stadium to get ready to play. If he wasn’t a football player Levens says he would’ve tried his luck on the basketball court. His favorite color is blue and if he were an animal he would be a tiger. If he had to describe himself in three words he said: “I am myself”.

Today’s featured Mayfield Sports athlete is Packer's running back DuJuan Harris (@Ol_sLy_Foxx on twitter). Harris was born on September 3rd, 1988 in Brooksville, Florida. While attending Central High in Brooksville, he rushed for more than 3,000 yards and 45 touchdowns. He also competed in track and weightlifting. Harris went on to college at Troy where he accumulated over 2,600 yards and 27 touchdowns rushing and over 550 yards and 5 touchdowns receiving. After going undrafted in 2011, he was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars where he spent most of the season on the practice squad, but did play in their final 5 games. Harris was released by Jacksonville in August of 2012. After spending part of the 2012 season on Green Bay’s practice squad Harris played in the final 4 regular season games, 2 of which were starts. He also started both of the Packers playoff games where he tied a franchise record by having back-to-back playoff games with a rushing touchdown. Harris missed the whole 2013 season with a knee injury.

According to DuJuan, he played running back most of his life just because of his height which is only 5’7” now, but he was always built for the position. His favorite part of playing for the Packers is the way the organization is run; with tons of tradition, an awesome fan base, and the team has faith in their players. If it wasn’t for football he says he’d be helping others, specifically juveniles, because it means a lot to help someone get on the right path and it creates a positive example for kids. His favorite color is black. Being given the nickname “Foxx” at birth because he had red hair, if he was an animal he would of course be a fox! Lastly if he had to describe himself in three words they would be: faith, because he hardly finds himself being worried; finisher, because he doesn’t like to start things he can’t finish; and affable because he is good spirited and easygoing.

Today’s featured Mayfield Sports athlete is Packer’s Hall of Famer and Super Bowl Champion, fullback William Henderson (@MWISWEETFROG on twitter). Henderson was born February 19th, 1971 in Richmond, Virginia. He attended Thomas Dale High School, which is in Chester, VA where he played on the varsity team his freshman through junior years. His senior year he did not play because of a knee injury. He then went on to spend his college days at the University of North Carolina. In the 1995 NFL draft Green Bay selected him early in the 3rd round.  Henderson spent his whole career with the Packers, which lasted through the 2006 season. Some career highlights include being selected to the Pro Bowl in 2004, helping the Packers win Super bowl XXXI, and blocking for some of the top individual rushing efforts in Packers history. In 2011 Henderson’s accomplishments were recognized as he was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame.

Some interesting facts about William are that if he wasn’t a football player he would’ve liked to be a physical therapist or an orthopedic surgeon. Growing up other than fullback he played linebacker, offensive and defensive lines and even kicker! His favorite color is purple and if he were an animal he would be a tiger. If he had to describe himself in 3 words they would be thoughtful, strong, and patient. Lastly William is a franchise owner of a Sweet Frog Frozen Yogurt in Whitefish Bay, WI.

Today’s featured Mayfield Sports athlete is Packers offensive lineman Don Barclay (@Barclay_64 on twitter). Barclay was born on April 18th, 1989 in Newport News, Virginia. He lettered 3 years for Seneca Valley High School in Pennsylvania where he was named second team all-conference and first team all-conference twice. Barclay attended West Virginia where he was a 3 year starter for the Mountaineers and tied a school record by playing in 52 career games. In 2010 as a junior he was a 2nd Team All-Big East selection. As a senior in 2011 he earned 1st Team All-Big East and 4th Team All-American honors. He did not get drafted in the 2012 draft, but signed with the Packers as an undrafted free agent and was one of only 4 rookie free agents to make the opening day roster for the Packers. He was also the only offensive rookie to appear in every game in 2012. In his sophomore campaign he started 14 games for Green Bay.

Some interesting facts about Barclay are that growing up he played linebacker and tight end one year, but the rest he was a lineman. His favorite thing about Green Bay is that it’s a small town and everyone is close to one another unlike in bigger cities. If he wasn’t playing football he says he would be in a financial or sales field and would like to own his own company. His favorite color is blue and if he was an animal he says he’d be a dog because they are active and like to have fun!
